QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
How long does a recording take?
The relaxed conversation is usually around 90 minutes - but we allow time at each end to get comfortable, settle in, and debrief afterwards. There's no rush.
Where does it happen?
Wherever feels most natural. We come to you; whether that's your home or a care residence. If you'd prefer a private studio setting, we can arrange that too. Outside of Australia? Online recordings are also available - enquire for details.
What do we receive?
A beautifully edited 30-minute video recording, plus a selection of short clips capturing the most special moments in bite-sized form. Everything is shared as a file for easy sharing across the family, along with a personal USB as a keepsake and backup.
Does the person need to prepare?
Not much - that's our job. Our onboarding questionnaire helps get the thoughts flowing beforehand, and it can be lovely to gather some photos or meaningful images ahead of the session. You'll have a personal folder to share these with us before we sit down together. We guide the conversation gently and draw the stories out - most people find they enjoy it deeply.
Who is it for?
It's for the people who matter most - whatever their story looks like. Some lives have been grand adventures; others have been quietly extraordinary. A Fairlight Recording isn't only for people who love the spotlight. Our interviewing experience is designed to draw out the essence of each individual, breaking down any nervousness so it feels like an intimate conversation - not a big production. That said, if your special person is very private or resistant to the idea, it may not be the right fit. We're happy to talk it through if you're unsure.
